About Us
Dixon Payne

Dixon Payne
Tim Payne established Dixon Payne in 1991 in the belief that a small, and focused practice, could better serve its Clients and aimed to provide a more personal and reactive service, tuned to a particular Clients needs.
Richard Staig joined the Practice during April, 2000 from Delva Patman Associates, a small central London based Practice having left after five years as Associate to the two Partners, predominately to strengthen the Rights to Light, Daylight & Sunlight, Neighbourly Matters and Party Wall focus. He has an extensive, and highly specialised knowledge, in these areas having worked in the past for both Anstey Horne & Co. for five years and Schatunowski Brooks (formerly known as Michael Brooks Associates as it was when he joined) for three years, as well as Delva Patman Associates. All acknowledged Experts in these fields.
Tim Payne, after graduating in 1981, was employed by Hunter & Partners (at that time the largest Building Surveying Practice in the country) and for four years was engaged predominantly in their core business of conversion and repairs to social housing stock for both housing association and Local Authority Clients. Involvement in innumerable repetitive repairs and alterations to largely Victorian urban terrace housing engendered a sound and extensive understanding of traditional building methods, construction and the failures associated with this type of property. In 1985, Tim Payne also joined Delva Patman Associates, where he dealt with predominately party wall and rights of light matters.
Services
We, as a Practice, hope that we can provide a more dedicated service than you might previously have experienced with other Consultants and we seek to taylor our services to the specific needs of any particular project. As an example, we do for a number of Clients visit sites prior to purchase or at an early development planning stage and provide a Report upon all boundary considerations in order that these can be factored into the planning/development process in order that they can be addressed, hopefully, in advance of any impact upon the critical path of a project. Obviously, time and/or information constraints does not make this infallible, but it can be of great assistance.
We are able to offer party wall advice for both Building and Adjoining Owners on competative rates and offer fixed fee estimates where possible. We are happy to act as joint agreed surveyor in determining disputes arising under the Party Wall etc. Act, 1996 in a quick and efficient manner.
We advise on legal entitlement to light and easements and offer practical advice to remedy disputes.
We advise Corporate and Private Clients on Sunlighting and Daylighting issues in respect to planning applications both, in support on behalf of applicants and, in defence on behalf of neighbouring owners.
